On the afternoon of April 7, the Sichuan-Italy Industry Cooperation and Investment Promotion Conference, sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial Government, took place in Chengdu. Vice Governor of Sichuan Province Zhu Hexin was in attendance and delivered a speech. Also present were Consul-general of Italy in Chengdu Sergio Maffettone, Sichuan Provincial People's Government Deputy Secretary Zhao Weiping, executives from nearly 20 renowned Italian companies, commerce chambers and industry associations, and persons in charge at relevant government organs and enterprises throughout Sichuan. Zhang Zhiyuan, SEIIG Party Committee Deputy Secretary, Vice Chairman and General Manager, attended the event and delivered a speech as representative of enterprises.

During his speech at the meeting, Zhu Hexin pointed out that interactions between Sichuan and Italy have become increasingly frequent and areas of cooperation continued to expand as Italy is being regarded as a key nation for open cooperation with Sichuan. The province is very willing to cement full-spectrum and high-level collaborations with Italy, jointly undertake pragmatic cooperation and start a new chapter in a win-win story.

Zhang Zhiyuan represented Sichuan enterprises and delivered a speech. He said that SEIIG has always persisted in fully open cooperation, taken firm grasp of the monumental opportunities presented by the "Belt and Road" initiative, responded and implemented actively the "go abroad" strategy proposed by the Party Committee and government of Sichuan, continued to strengthen the development of overseas projects and recorded a certain degree of success. At the same time, SEIIG is devoted to seeking prospective partnerships with Italy, treasures this important exchange opportunity, and firmly believes that through efforts from both sides, cooperation between Sichuan and Italy will certainly produce even more abundant and fruitful results.
